In May 2024, Craft CMS released a new Copy and Paste feature to help make editing your website even more efficient.
You can now copy content, from a single module to an entire page, and paste it wherever you need it. It’s a simple way to save time and maintain consistency across your site.
If you’d like to dive deeper, you can also check out Craft’s official documentation on Copy and Paste.
What you can copy
Modules — individual content items like a text block, image, button, or video.
Sections — full sections of content made up of multiple modules. For example copying a Layout section made up of multiple Tile cards and Rich Text Modules.
Entire pages — perfect for reusing a layout or creating a new page based on an existing one. For example, creating a Junior School page and then using this page as the base layout for your Senior School page.
How to copy and paste Sections
Hover over the three dots on the right hand side of the section or module with the section that you want to copy.
Click Copy.
Navigate to where you want to paste it.
Click Paste.
That’s it! You can then edit the copied content as needed.
How to copy and paste an entire page
Navigate to the page you wish to copy. Head to the Content tab. On the right hand side you will see three dots.
Click Copy all entries.
Go back to Entries and either navigate to the page you wish to paste to or press “New Entry” in the top right hand corner. Navigate to the Content tab on the new page.
Click Paste entries.
That’s it! You can then edit the copied content as needed.
A few tips
If you copy an entire page, remember to update the page title, URL, and SEO settings before publishing.
You can edit any copied content — think of it as a starting point, not a locked design.
After pasting, double-check that images and links still make sense on the new page.
