Exciting times! You're building a new school website with Digistorm. Have a read over this article to understand the steps and requirements of building a new site and preparing for it to go live.
The first step is for us to fully understand what you are trying to achieve with your new website design and build.
If you've chosen one of our in-house designed Themed Website's, you would have selected your favourite design. So we'll just need your style guide and some great imagery to bring the chosen design to life and make it your own.
If you're going for a custom design, we'll conduct workshops with the project's stakeholders, learning everything we need to know before starting the custom design. Your assigned Digistorm Project Manager (PM) will conduct a kick-off meeting to talk you through the process and requirements as well as how to provide information and feedback to keep the project moving.
While the build is happening, it's important for you to spend time reviewing your current website content and performance. Use the approved design concepts to construct a new site map and prepare your content for population as soon as the website is developed and handed over.
Training is a really important element to building a new site and we understand it can be daunting. It's our promise to you that we'll be with you every step of the way. You'll have a handover training session to equip you with all you need to know in order to populate your new site with your prepared and curated content.
This session is an overview of your whole content management system (CMS) and should be attended by the main content managers at your school.
In preparation for go-live, your PM will work with your IT team to finalise redirects and other technical elements. We'll also provide you with a marketing pack featuring assets to use on socials for promoting your brand new website.
Once you're live, your Customer Success Manager will check-in to see if you need any further CMS training.
