Starting at the top of our main navigation we have Entries. This area of your CMS is a hub for all of the content that exists on your website. Here you’ll be able to find everything from your homepage and subpages to employment postings, news, events, and more.

Under the Entries menu on the left-hand side, you’ll be able to see that each entry type has its own section, making it easier to manage your content. Let’s now take a closer look at all of the entry types available within this area of your CMS.

All entries

Under the All Entries section, you’ll see a list of every piece of content that’s listed on your website. This is a great way to widely search for content if you’re not sure what entry type it is.

Singles

Under the Singles section, you’ll find the bespoke pages on your website like your homepage, for example.

Pages

Within the Pages section, you’ll be able to see all of the primary and sub-pages on your website and how they’re structured. If you’d like to edit the status of these pages, simply click on the box next to the page (or pages) you wish to edit and then click the Set status button at the top of your page.

Next, you’ll be able to enable or disable the selected pages. To change the structure of your website pages, you can simply drag and drop pages to reorder their position on your website and within the main navigation.

Channels

Channels break down the different types of content that are published regularly on your website including; news, events, pop-ups, snippets, and videos. Channels are also used to automatically populate other aggregate pages based on the specific content type. For example, when a new event entry is added, it will automatically be added to the list of events on your website’s events page.

Let’s dive deeper and look at the different channels available on your website.

News

Keep your community up-to-date with the latest happenings at your school by creating and updating news articles. You can also categorise your news articles into group topics and improve the aesthetics of your page.

Events

Share information about all of the upcoming in-person or virtual events at your school. Any new events added here will automatically be added to your events page as well as any other pages on your website that display upcoming events.

Pop-ups

Pop-ups are a great way to grab your audience’s attention and direct them to more information about a particular topic or promotion. Here you can upload an image that can either be directed to another entry on your website or URL. Once you’ve uploaded your image, you will need to navigate to the page that you would like it to appear on and allow permission to add the pop-up to this page from within the settings tab.

Snippets

Snippets are pieces of content that can be reused across your website. All of the formatting and block options that can be used in a regular page can also be used in a Snippet, but with the added convenience of portability so that you don’t need to create the same content across multiple pages.

Videos

Easily add a YouTube, Vimeo, or locally hosted video to your website. For best practice, we recommend hosting your videos on YouTube or Vimeo over uploading a file directly to your website for better performance.
