Categories are a nifty tool that allows you to group news and events entries into subjects so that visitors can easily find what they’re looking for. Let’s take a look at how to edit, update, and remove categories.
To create a new category, click on the new category button in the top right-hand corner. The drop-down to the right of the button also allows you to select which entry type the category is for.
Next, it’s time to give the category a title for how you would like it to appear on your website. Before moving on, double-check that you’re happy with the URL’s slug that has been automatically generated.
If you decide that you’d like to delete a category, select the checkbox beside it, then either change its status to disabled or remove it completely, which can be done by clicking settings and then selecting delete.
Applying categories to entries
When editing a news or events entry, the option to add your entry to a category will appear under the page title text box. If you would like to apply a category, click this button and then select the relevant category from the list of pop-up options that will appear.
