Transfer an app between Apple Developer Accounts

There are a range of reasons why you may need to transfer apps between Apple Developer Accounts.

We recommend reaching out to your Customer Success Manager or our Support Team to discuss your school's circumstances.

Before the transfer

Support Digistorm will provide

If the app is being transferred to your account from Digistorm, we will manage the majority of the process. You will just need to get your account ready with the details below and accept the transfer.

If transferring between customer-controlled accounts, Digistorm, to the degree possible, will clean up your app listing and get it into a state where it is ready to transfer.

Due to the set-up of Apple's systems, there are components that will need to be actioned by you using the Account Holding Apple ID.

What you will need to action

We will need you to ensure both the source (if customer-controlled) and destination accounts have the following items actioned:

  • The free apps agreement is accepted (more information from Apple can be found here)

  • Our Digistorm Developer account user (with the email address developer6@digistorm.com.au) has been invited to the account with Admin permission (more information from Apple can be found here)

  • The App Store Connect API (ASC API) is enabled (more information from Apple can be found here)

The transfer process

Triggering the transfer

The transfer of the app will need to be triggered by the Account Holding Apple ID. If transferring between customer-controlled accounts, this will be held by you or a partner organisation.

Due to manual updates required on Digistorm’s side, it is important you only action this transfer at the time agreed with Digistorm.

You will first need to trigger the transfer from the source account. Details on this process from Apple can be found here.

Accepting the transfer

After the transfer has been triggered, the steps outlined here will need to be actioned by the Account Holding Apple ID of the destination account.

Details that you can provide during this process can be found below:

  • Support URL - we recommend your "contact us" page, our support team are unable to provide support directly to your community

  • Marketing URL - we recommend your website

  • Privacy policy URL - this can be your privacy policy or Digistorm’s (https://www.digistorm.com/au/legal/privacy-policy)

  • CCATS/export compliance - “Standard encryption algorithms” can be selected here

  • App Review contact information - Digistorm’s contact details can be listed here, as outlined below

  • App Store contact information - Digistorm’s contact details or your contact details can be listed here

When this transfer is finalised by Apple, you will receive an email notification. This is generally instant.

Once you receive this notification, please reach out to your Digistorm contact so we can finalise any action items on our side.
