In this article, we'll explain how to test your Funnel automations.

There are a couple of ways to test an automation:

The first option is to manually subscribe automation leads the second option is to test the custom trigger.

To test your automation using the custom trigger, build your automation exactly the way you want and need without publishing it.

If you do not have a Test lead in your Funnel, you will need to create at least one. We recommend filling out your Application Form with dummy data and using Test as the first name for the child and guardians.

When you are ready to give your automation a go, add a filter to your custom trigger for:

  • “Lead properties” - “First name” - ”equals” - “Test”; or

  • “Lead properties” - “First name” - ”contains” - “Test”

Please note that some first names may contain “Test”

Then you can hit publish and only the leads meeting your trigger conditions will enter your Automation. You can see the Automation activity for your test lead within the Activity log.

If satisfied with your test, just remove the custom condition for the “Lead properties” - “First name” … and publish your automation!
